Jamel Randall

Founder, The Trap Yoga and Massage Studio

Partner Cities

  • Detroit 2026

Jamel Randall is the founder of The Trap Yoga and Massage Studio. A Detroit native, he is a yoga teacher, and wellness advocate.. With more than 18 years of experience in yoga, and massage therapy, Randall has dedicated his life to making wellness accessible and inclusive for all. His journey began at age 19, sparked by a search for mindfulness and healing, and was further shaped by personal challenges, including becoming the guardian of his twin sister, Deedee, who has severe cerebral palsy.

Recognizing the lack of inclusivity in traditional yoga spaces, Randall created The Trap Yoga and Massage Studio in 2016 to provide a welcoming environment for minority communities and individuals who don’t fit the stereotypical “yogi” mold. His classes are a unique blend of mindfulness, movement, and music, often set to trap beats, creating an experience that is both transformative and relatable. He has trained thousands of individuals in his methodology and aims to certify 10,000 yoga instructors in the T.R.A.P. Method. He also launched LiL Trap Yogis, a children’s wellness initiative, to instill the values of mindfulness and self-care at an early age.
