Partner Cities
The Aspen Challenge strives to build future generations of engaged and equitable leaders by providing tools and a platform for young people to play critical roles in identifying, designing, and implementing solutions to their community’s biggest needs.
Each year the Aspen Institute partners with school districts around the country to engage, inspire, and challenge our nation’s youth. Throughout the first two years in each location, the Aspen Challenge team builds the capacity of the partner city to have ownership in this initiative beginning in year three.
In 2023, Aspen Challenge: Brooklyn will launch in partnership with Brooklyn North Public Schools at the New York City Department of Education, bringing 20 high schools from Brooklyn together to tackle some of the toughest issues our communities face. Orleans Parish in New Orleans, Louisiana will be back for its second year with 20 new high schools taking on the challenge.
