Solutions:

I challenge you to create a program that fosters equity and belonging for LGBTQ+ youth by providing affirming spaces, holistic support, and opportunities for youth to explore their identities on their own terms.

Aaron Ngan

Spill The Tea Initiative

We envision a world where every teenager, regardless of their identity, has access to safe spaces, meaningful connections, and the support they need to make healthy choices. By connecting peers through safe spaces, we strive to create a world where all teens feel they can talk openly about their relationship with substances with their peers.

I challenge you to create a program that equips unhoused, transition-aged youth with the skills, tools, and motivation to secure stable housing by encouraging the utilization of existing resources and helps to set actionable goals for immediate and future success in housing security.

Jerry Troyer

R.E.A.C.H O.U.T

Create a friendly space where youth can help other youth find solutions to the issues that arise from experiencing homelessness.

Future Foundation Project

We will help shift the mindset of students in unstable housing conditions to invoke a sense of hope and sufficiency.

You Got This San Diego

Saturday Socials

Unhoused youth are no longer ostracized and the Point Loma community provides systems and resources for them to improve themselves and their circumstances for a better future.

FIRST PATH

We envision that all foster youth will have the knowledge and resources to independently support themselves as they transition into adulthood, focusing on financial stability and long-term housing.

I challenge you to raise awareness about the impacts of sea-level rise in your community and create strategies that build consensus around solutions that balance the needs of humans and habitats.

Alex Ferron

Project Blue Horizons

We want to see people throughout our local communities taking action thanks to their new-found knowledge about the sea level rise crises, additionally they will be generating solutions and will not be in constant argument for what solution will work best.

Project RISE

Raise awareness, inspire actions, strengthen community, and empower long-term solutions.

I challenge you to lead an initiative that increases opportunities for young people to safely connect and support one another in talking about their relationship to substances; including opening pathways to existing resources in your community that support mitigating substance use.

Jim Crittenden & Alex Swift

Joy for Kids

By 2040 no youth in San Diego should feel that substance use is the only solution. Every youth will have access to mentorship, sobriety, and a clear path to success.

Elevate the Youth

Elevate the Youth aims to create a world in which youth have the option to be their best self. Starting with San Diego, every kid should be allowed to compete and be the best version of themselves, instead of using substances.

I challenge you to make hanging out easier than scrolling by identifying the barriers that keep your generation trapped in solo screen time. Create practical solutions that make in-person connection the preferred practice of socializing.

The H.I.V.E.

Our vision as H.I.V.E. (Helping Individuals Value Engagement) is to create a more connected community educated on having healthy relationships with technology.

UConnect

Our vision is to impact youth that are struggling to make healthy social connections and reduce their feelings of loneliness and lack of self confidence that stems from our dependence on technology-based communication.

Patriots Unplugged

By bringing attention to the loneliness epidemic we can help teenagers stop/lower their scrolling time.We plan to use our schools several clubs to create a system in which students can sign up to be sorted into clubs based on interest. Similarly we will be using a website to organize activities that will foster friendships and personal growth.

Hangout Hub

We envision an energized after-school community where every child thrives, forging genuine connections and discovering their potential through dynamic activities that spark creativity, promote well-being, and foster a strong sense of belonging.

No Phone Zone

We see a future with students experiencing more human interactions and feeling comfortable being their authentic selves, instead of feeling like they only have their phones.
