Yasmine Elkharssa

Yasmine Elkharssa is a Truman Scholar and policy strategist advancing social policy at the intersection of law, narrative, and lived experience. She recently founded MENA With MS, an initiative which advances visibility for Middle Eastern/North African people in the U.S. living with multiple sclerosis. Previously, she was an Associate at the Aspen Institute’s Center for Rising Generations, where she served on the inaugural team building and planning the future of youth civic infrastructure. As an Arab, Muslim woman from Dearborn Heights, Michigan, Elkharssa’s work spans roles at the Center for Law and Social Policy, the U.S. House of Representatives Office of Representative Rashida Tlaib and the Community Development Advocates of Detroit. As a recent graduate of the University of Michigan’s Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, she hopes to pursue a Juris Doctor.
