New Orleans 2023 Solutions:

I challenge you to raise awareness about the ways that discriminatory housing policies continue to impact communities today, and design a solution that empowers residents to collaborate with policymakers to promote equitable housing access.

Cashauna Hill

N3W BALANCE

To improve colored citizens’ lives and strengthen colored communities!

I challenge you to create an innovative program that educates adults about the mental health needs of New Orleans youth and engages adults, particularly caregivers, in responding to those needs.

Ron McClain

The Voices Behind the Walls

We envision a future where the families of incarcerated youth will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to adequately respond to children’s needs in support of positive decision-making and the fulfillment of children's potential.

S.B.W. Inspired Mentality

The SBW Team's vision is to help adults understand today’s teens’ mental health and social lives (online and in person) without comparing their personal experiences as teenagers with the issues that today’s young people face.

Aides of Apollo

Inspire adults to take the mental health of young people seriously and to visualize the impact of young people being able to freely talk about mental health with adults.

VOICE

Our group envisions a future in which young adults, teens and children may freely voice their traumas and issues with one another and adults without fear or lack of safety. We want a future where adults are educated on the mental health needs of youth, not just in New Orleans, but everywhere.

P.O.V. (Partners of Vision)

We envision a school environment where teachers and students can be symbiotic in making schoolwide decisions. We also see both parties being mindful and considerate of the other's mental health.

I challenge you to develop a solution that addresses both physical food access and food affordability in an effort to reduce food insecurity and improve equity in your community.

Lindsay Hendrix

Greaux Me Dat

Our team envisions a community that has access to good quality, nutritious food and understands the consequences of hunger and poor nutrition through creating healthier choices.

NOLA FEEDS

Imagine a community where everyone has consistent access to fresh, healthy, and affordable food. Contemplate a community in which everyone has access to local, wholesome, affordable food and has a sustainable meal every time.

The Feast in the East

We, The Feast in the East, envision a hub in New Orleans East where people have access to adequate, nourishing food.

NOLA GoGreen

We envision a future where food can be easily obtained in a wide variety of communities that face complications and where we can keep everyone safe and fed.

I challenge you to increase action and awareness among your peers that “visibilizes” the climate impact of Louisiana’s consumer waste and offers sustainable solutions to address the environmental damage it causes.

Colette Pichon Battle

RE2ED

We foresee a future with a cleaner and greener Earth where you won't have to worry about Earth’s survival due to inhospitable temperatures.

Operation Change

We envision a space where intergenerational communities work together as one to eliminate waste production. We believe that mindful consumption and increasing awareness will combat climate change.

The I.S.A.C.C. Society

We envision helping people understand the urgency of climate change so that they will work toward bettering the world with their habits.

I challenge you to develop a youth-led social media strategy that raises awareness about the disease of gun violence and develops a program that intervenes and prevents online activity from becoming deadly in real life.

Patrick Young

HealNOLA

We envision a world of peace and safety. We envision a world where kids are able to go outside without experiencing gun violence; where young people do not normalize violence and are able to imagine other possibilities for their lives and futures.

STV (Stop the Violence)

We envision a safer community for present and future generations to prosper, we want to unify and promote togetherness in our community and lastly deplete gun violence amongst our people.
