Born and raised in San Diego, Troy Johnson is a national award-winning food writer, author, and Food Network personality. Three years ago, he and his wife Claire became the new owners of San Diego Magazine, revitalizing the city’s iconic lifestyle magazine as a modern media, co-producing a national TV-caliber video series, launching a storytelling studio for brands (SDM Studios) and the Del Mar Wine & Food Festival. Johnson has been a judge on Food Network for 13 years – over 150 episodes of “Guy’s Grocery Games”, plus guest stints on “Iron Chef America”, “Best Thing I Ever Ate”, “Superchef Grudge Match”, “Alex vs. America”, and “Wild Card Kitchen”. His funny takes on life have been posted on CNN, Washington Post, Buzzfeed, Reader’s Digest, and Funny or Die!. He earned a poetry degree in college and still managed to find employment.
