
Hassan Naveed is Executive Director for the NYC Office for the Prevention of Hate Crimes, and brings a decade of expertise in addressing criminal justice issues affecting vulnerable communities. Formerly the Deputy Executive Director of OPHC, he was appointed Executive Director by Mayor Eric Adams in October 2022. Hassan’s experience extends to his role as Director of Outreach at the New York City Department of Investigation’s Office of Inspector General for the NYPD. Before entering city government, he spearheaded community initiatives in Washington, D.C., focusing on improving hate crime response and prevention by the local police department involving LGBTQ, Muslim, immigrant, and other communities. Hassan holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Master’s degree from New York University.
