Ann Kim is a portfolio director at IDEO Cambridge, focused on health and public sector issues. At IDEO since 2011, she has led a multiyear HIV-prevention collaboration with USAID and worked with US Citizenship and Immigration Services to transform the immigration application experience. From 2016 to 2017, she was the first chief design officer in the Office of the US Surgeon General, taking the creative lead in such issues as the stigma of addiction, the rise of opioids, and Zika. Kim continues to advise Dr. Vivek Murthy, working on the epidemic of loneliness. A feature documentary, Lovesick, premieres this fall. Kim is an inaugural fellow of the Sundance Women in Film initiative, as well as the US-Japan Leadership Program, International Reporting Project, and a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
