Antonio Reynoso

Antonio Reynoso is the first Latino Brooklyn Borough President. Previously, he served on the City Council District 34. His career began with the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN). He then joined the staff of City Councilwoman Diana Reyna, working in constituent services, and rose to Chief of Staff. 

While on the City Council, Reynoso focused on quality-of-life issues. He led the charge advocating for the rezoning of Bushwick, Brooklyn. Reynoso was instrumental in the passage of the Right to Know Act in response to thousands of Black and Latino New Yorkers arbitrarily being stopped and frisked by the New York Police Department, and helped pass the Tenant Safety Act to protect tenants’ rights. As two-time Chair of the Sanitation Committee, he led efforts to reduce the tonnage of trash in Northern Brooklyn by 50 percent.

A native Brooklynite, Reynoso was born and raised in South Williamsburg to Dominican immigrants and resides in Williamsburg today. He attended La Salle Academy, and received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York.
