
Ron McClain is the Executive Director of the Institute of Mental Hygiene of the City of New Orleans. A long-term resident of New Orleans, McClain has more than 30 years of experience in social service administration and university teaching in the field. McClain received recognition for his strategic re-building of the community-based behavioral health agency, Family Service of Greater New Orleans, following Hurricane Katrina. His successes were featured in a social policy textbook by Dr. Bruce Jansson of the University of Southern California, Becoming an Effective Policy Advocate, From Policy Practice to Social Justice. McClain is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and received a Juris Doctorate law degree from Loyola University at New Orleans School of Law. He is a Fellow in the Tulane University School of Medicine Early Childhood Policy Leadership Institute and the Norman C. Francis Leadership Institute.
