Kenya George is a dynamic community organizer and youth developer committed to the transformation and upliftment of youth, young adults, and their families. Growing up in The Bronx, she recognized the power that nonprofits have in supporting the upward mobility of youth. Everywhere she goes, her intention is to leverage love as a tool and practice to help strengthen community. For it is love that has the power to change lives.
George currently serves in a dual role as Program Director and Co-Regional Executive Director at BUILD NYC, where she leads a team in the implementation of BUILD NYC’s national program curriculum and special events. She started her career at University Settlement where she was most recently the Community School Director. George holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Barnard College, and a Masters of Social Work from Hunter College.
