Jordan Wirfs-Brock is a journalist, data analyst, and information designer pushing the leading edge of data journalism, interactive storytelling, and civic technology. Her passion is to tell stories with data and create tools to help others do the same. She runs Floodlight, a tool for change-makers to create compelling, data-driven digital stories that inspire positive community action. She previously worked in the Piton Foundation’s Data Initiative, where she used neighborhood-level data to help people improve their communities. During graduate school, Wirfs-Brock got her feet wet in the field of data visualization and wrote stories about garbage, dairy farming, air pollution, and spider hunters. Wirfs-Brock loves finding elegant ways of communicating complex issues, whether it is through data, words, maps, or stories.
