Joe Hornstein

Joe Hornstein has represented Florida International University and the FIU Foundation as its Principal Gifts Officer since 2018. In this capacity, his office supports the cultivation of philanthropic gifts made to FIU of over $1 million.

Hornstein previously served as Director of Corporate Relations when he first began his tenure with the FIU Foundation in 2013. While managing a portfolio that included Fortune 500 companies located within the U.S. and abroad, he was named the division’s Fundraiser of the Year in 2016 and 2018.

Hornstein’s foray into his current role came after serving more than 20 years directing athletics media relations and communications at some of Florida’s top programs, including the historic Orange Bowl Committee, FIU, the University of Miami, the University of Central Florida, Florida State University and the University of South Florida. He first arrived at FIU in 2011 to work directly with the Panthers’ football program.
