Jamiel L. Alexander is the senior fellow for the Aspen Institute Forum for Community Solutions, coordinating the program’s youth engagement strategy. Prior to joining the Aspen Institute, he managed the Crispus Attucks Association’s Youth and Family Programs, where for 12 years he was responsible for a variety of tasks including managing after-school and summer programs, professional and leadership development, youth and family workshops, and various community service projects. Alexander currently serves as a committee member for the York City General Authority Commission, NAACP (York County), Ancestors Dream Organization, and Helping Offer Options and Directions, LLC. In 2012, he was appointed to serve on the National Council of Young Leaders, and in 2013, he was chosen to speak at the 50th Anniversary March on Washington. While Alexander engages and serves with many organizations, he makes it a priority to take care of “home” first.
