Stephanie Elizalde is chief of school leadership for the Dallas Independent School District, a post she assumed in December 2015 to provide direction to the district’s 225 schools with a focus on increasing student achievement. She joined the district in 2011, serving as director of the STEM program, then executive director and assistant superintendent of school leadership. With 28 years of teaching and educational leadership experience, Elizalde previously held a variety of leadership positions in the San Antonio ISD and Southwest ISD. She was also early college high school leadership facilitator with the Texas High School Project and assistant superintendent for curriculum at Shekinah Learning Institute. A University of Texas at San Antonio graduate with a degree in biology, she earned a master’s in educational leadership from UTSA and is currently completing her dissertation for her doctorate from University of Texas at Austin.
