Kia Robinson Hatfield is the Director of Programs, Marketing, and Communications at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Foundation, Inc. where she leads a team responsible for developing communication and marketing strategies, and efforts to create new programs and expand opportunities for Louisiana’s music and cultural communities. She directs and produces Foundation programs including more than 25 year-round concerts and numerous program initiatives. Among others, the Foundation supports Louisiana schools with the Community Partnership Grants Program, aids entrepreneurs with the Catapult Fund, and offers music-industry, festival workshops, and business development events through the Sync Up Conference. Robinson Hatfield also recently advocated for the creation of the Jazz & Heritage Music Relief Fund to support Louisiana musicians and culture bearers who lost income amid the pandemic.
Prior to her current role, Robinson Hatfield was the Promotions Director at Citadel Broadcasting. She is a graduate of Xavier University Preparatory, and has a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications – Broadcast Media from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She serves as a cultural curator as a board member of Efforts of Grace/Ashe Cultural Arts Center, an organization that delivers programming and direct services that support, leverage, and celebrate the people, places, and philosophies of the African Diaspora.
